Biography:
Dexter Morgan, portrayed by Michael C. Hall, is a fictional character first appearing in the TV show *Dexter* in 2006. He works as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department. However, he lives a double life as a vigilante serial killer.
Dexter was traumatized as a child, witnessing his mother's brutal murder. He was subsequently adopted by Miami police officer Harry Morgan, who recognized Dexter's homicidal tendencies. Harry taught Dexter a strict code, "The Code of Harry," to channel his urges towards killing only other murderers who have escaped justice.
Dexter struggles to maintain a normal facade, forming relationships and navigating social situations while secretly indulging his dark compulsions. He grapples with his identity and the morality of his actions throughout the series, becoming a complex and morally ambiguous horror character.
